At Skydive Australia, we believe that skydiving should be accessible to almost everyone, including people with disabilities, pre-exisiting medical conditions or past injuries. Our experienced team, specialised equipment and tailored support make it possible for individuals with varying levels of ability or conditions to experience the thrill of free-falling from thousands of feet! Please read the below information regarding how we can ensure you are safe to skydive with us before you book.
Do you have a pre-existing medical condition/injury?
Skydive Australia must be notified prior to the jump date of any pre-existing or existing medical conditions, injuries or illnesses that may affect your ability to safely skydive.
What happens if I do?
Before you book, it’s essential that any medical condition which could affect your safety should be discussed with a doctor to ensure you are fit to skydive. If your doctor gives you clearance to skydive then you can book (hooray!).ย It will still be required that you notify us of a pre-exisiting condition and bring the medical certificate with you from your doctor confirming you are okay to participate in a skydive.
You will also be asked when you check in and may require an assessment from our Safety Officer too.
What about prescription medication? Do I need to let you know?ย
Please advise Skydive Australia if you are taking prescription medication. You can contact us prior to your jump to confirm it is fine to skydive.
What if I have cold/flu symptoms?
It is our obligation to inform you that if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, sinus or ear equalising issues on the day of your skydive, it may potentially lead to further health complications during or after your jump, and we urge you to proceed with caution.
We hope the above helps you understand the reasons why we need to have a pre-exisiting medical condition procedure. If you have any other questions, please reach out to our awesome Skydive Australia crew.
