WE KNOW THERE’S A LOT YOU WANT TO KNOW
We recommend choosing a time as early as possible in the day to maximise the chance that you jump. This is due to weather conditions changing during the day.
By law the minimum age to tandem skydive in Australia is 16 years old. If under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must be present on the day of the jump.
Weight is an important factor in skydiving and aviation. It affects aircraft weights and balances, fuel allowances, climb rates and equipment maintenance. Once at the drop zone, all customers are subject to a weight assessment by a Tandem Master. While we'd absolutely love to be able to take everyone skydiving, we do have some limitations when it comes to weight. Please contact the drop zone you are jumping at directly to find out the weight limit specific to that location. Everyone is weighed at check in, so if you weight 94kg or over (including clothing and shoes), surcharges will apply.
The weight surcharge is necessary as the more weight in the harness, the more stress it puts on the equipment requiring it to be maintained a lot more frequently. Skydiving is obviously a very physically demanding job for our Tandem Masters, a job which is made harder with every extra kilogram. Only certain highly experienced Tandem Masters are qualified and capable of taking customers over the 94kg threshold. If you exceed the Drop Zones safe maximum weight or if the Safety Officer believes you should not jump you may be eligible for a refund, or we will simply reschedule you to another day when weather conditions are more suitable.
Yes, changes are permitted up to 24 hours before the confirmed jump date. Changes within 24 hours of the jump date, will be subject to a rebooking fee of $100.
Our terms and conditions state all payments are non-refundable. However, you can change the date and/or time of your skydive up to 24 hours before the confirmed jump date. Bookings will remain valid for a period of 12 months from the original jump date. After this date, all payments will be forfeited, and no refunds will be given.
We sure do! Gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.
Yes! You can book for others or book in as a group. If you would like to give a tandem skydive as a gift you can purchase a gift certificate that can be sent to you.
Bookings can be made from one day before, to a maximum of six months in advance. In peak summer season one to two weeks advance notice is strongly recommended. The sooner you contact us the more chance you have of skydiving on your preferred date. Bookings for today's jumps can be made only through our booking hotline on 1300 815 253.
Give us a call, we'll try to work with you to find another date and time that suits.
We accept Visa or MasterCard, Afterpay and account2account when booking online. We can accept AliPay and WeChat Pay at the dropzone.
Please note that our drop zones only accept card payment and paying with cash may be unavailable.
Abso-bloody-lutely! Our most popular package is the Handicam Video & Photo Package, which is $179 per person. Handicam photos only is $129 per person. All our dropzones offer this package. Dedicated photos and video is $269 per person and filmed by a separate skydiver or the Ultimate photos and video combining both dedicated outside camera and handicam technology, is $339 per person. Dedicated and ultimate cannot be booked in advance - only on the day of the skydive. For more info on our packages, please click here.
No, but photos and video can be purchased under 'Extras' online, or at the drop zone on the day. Once purchased, your photos and videos will be emailed straight to your inbox on the same day as your skydive. Trust us, you will want to share this with the whole world!
We offer the Handicam Photo and Video Packages at all dropzones. You can either book online, call to add to your booking before you jump or you can decide on arrival. Please note, credit card surcharges apply at the dropzone. The Dedicated Package cannot be pre-booked. They must be booked on the day of your skydive, subject to availability and are only available at selected locations.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately you cannot take your own Go-Pro with you on your skydive. Our tandem instructors actually have to obtain an additional license to be qualified to carry a camera in freefall, and in order to obtain that license, they need to: - Do a minimum of 100 jumps. - Complete 20 landings within 10m of the target. - Complete 5 consecutive nominated landings within 20m of the target. This is on top of all the other training they need to complete to become a solo skydiver and tandem instructor in the first place!
If you are having any issues with your video and photos please call our team on 1300 663 634 or email reservations@skydive.com.au. We will get this resolved as quickly as possible for you.
We recommend loose, casual clothing such as active wear, jeans or tracksuit pants. You must wear fully enclosed shoes, such as running or sports trainers. Hiking boots and high heels are not appropriate. *PLEASE NOTE* Due to COVID-19 we currently cannot offer any shared clothing. Please ensure you bring your own fleece/jumper and long pants, if it's cold. If you're jumping in the colder months, we recommend wearing gloves and very warm clothes as it can get quite chilly at 15,000ft!
We recommend removing any loose items before your skydive, including dentures or false teeth. If you have any questions at all, please ask our friendly staff when you arrive at the drop zone.
YES! We have goggles that will fit over your glasses/contacts, leaving you to take in those EPIC views. However please let your instructor know if you are wearing contact lenses.
Don’t worry - if the weather is unfavourable on the day of your booking, we will reschedule your jump to another date that best suits you! We will make all weather decisions on the day of the skydive. We never recommend going off the forecast as this is never correct and you may end up cancelling out of a day that ends up being beautiful, missing your chance to jump on your preferred day. If there is heavy rain, strong wind or low thick cloud coverage we will cancel and reschedule the jumps if it does not clear. If it is partly cloudy or there are a few showers we can jump through or around this without it affecting the experience. If you've booked already expect to get a text message the day before to confirm if there are time changes. We make daily weather assessments, if we need to cancel or delay a jump we'll do it on the day and let you know. If you've not yet booked we recommend doing so, and if for whatever reason we need to cancel or postpone you can reschedule to another day within 12 months. If you are unable to re-book as you will be leaving the state or country you are eligible for a refund (please remember that gift vouchers are non-refundable under any circumstance).
You need to arrive at the drop zone to check-in at the time of your booking - there is no need to arrive any earlier, but definitely don't arrive late. However, if you're skydiving in a central or busy location, please allow more time for parking and traffic. Double check your email confirmation for booking time, or get in touch with us to confirm.
The number of tandems we can take on a plane can vary depending on which location you choose and what is available, it can be anywhere from 5 - 9 tandems on one plane together. This can never be guaranteed as this also depends on instructor availability, however, we will do our best to get your group jumping together.
Being scared is all part of the experience! Once you arrive on the day and have gone through the training and met your instructors you feel much more at ease. If you are feeling a little nervous or scared, make sure to tell your instructor so they can help ease your nerves!
Whilst we endeavour to complete your skydive within 3-4 hours, skydiving can be a full-day activity. Please allow for unforeseen delays due to events such as unfavourable weather and air traffic control.
If we have to cancel your jump due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will be totally bummed! But, there's no need to fret, your booking will be rescheduled to another date that suits you. If you're not sure of a date, a ‘limbo’ credit will be issued to the value of the original skydive. A limbo credit will remain valid for a period of 12 months from the original jump date AND it can be transferred to another Skydive Australia location if you're travelling. You will need to pay any price difference if changing to an experience of a higher booking value including upgrading to a higher jump height, changing to a weekend or public holiday, changing products, packages or skydive locations. Customers will not be due a refund if changing to an experience of a lesser booking value.
On the very rare occasion that the parachute does not open completely or properly, your instructor will release that canopy and pull the reserve parachute.
Sorry, you’ll have to wait until bub is born before you can take to the skies. Skydiving is not safe if you are pregnant and we have a strict policy which does not allow anyone who is pregnant to skydive for your own safety.
Personal accident insurance is included in the cost of your skydive. This will cover you for up to $50,000 in medical cover.
No, you cannot. You must ensure you have not been scuba diving 24 hours prior to skydiving due to the change in altitude and pressure.
We do our best to get everyone skydiving, however, safety comes first. Each disability is different and for this reason you will require a medical certificate from your doctor stating it is safe for you to skydive. Our chief instructor will then also assess you before skydiving, the final decision is up to them and if they do not think it is safe you will not be able to skydive. You are welcome to be assessed before arriving on the day however please ensure you call on 1300 663 634 to check if there is someone at the office who is able to do the assessment.
It is important to inform us before booking if you have had any recent injuries or surgeries, restrictions on your physical ability or have any mobility issues at all. Please advise if you suffer from epilepsy or have any heart conditions. This may mean you cannot skydive. It is our obligation to inform you that if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms or blocked sinuses on the day of your skydive, it may potentially lead to further health complications during or after your jump. We urge you to proceed with caution.
Yes you can but it's really important you tell us so we can look after you and give you an alternative position during freefall.
It depends on the season, the day of the week and of course how many customers we have booked on that day. During summer, the instructors could be doing up to 11 jumps a day!
Instructors open their parachute at approximately 4,000ft.
